Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test - 2027
Presently the JNVs are spread in 27 States and 08 Union Territories.
These are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
While education in the schools is free including board& lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN).
Educational Qualification: for 6th
Admission of candidate to class VI in a JNV is district specific. A candidate who is studying class V in a district is allowed to apply for admission to JNV in the same district only.
Candidate has to study class V in any of the Govt. or Govt. recognized schools located in the same District during 2026-27.
Candidates who have passed class V before the session 2026-27 or repeater candidates are not eligible to apply.
A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 01-05-2015 and after 31-07-2017 (Both dates are inclusive).

Reservation:
At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates provisionally selected from rural areas of the district.
15% for SC and 7.5% for ST
27% reservation shall be provided to the OBC students
Minimum One third of the total seats are filled by girls.

Admission of candidate to class IX in a JNV is district specific. A candidate who is studying class VIII in a district is allowed to apply for admission to JNV in the same district only.
Candidate has to study class VIII in any of the Govt. or Govt. recognized schools located in the same District during 2026-27.
